Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has hired William Fawcett as the new Regional Head of Legal Services for North America. Serge Corel, CEO UK and Ireland at Allianz Worldwide Partners UK, comments; “Neil has demonstrated his expertise and in-depth knowledge of the legal aspects of financial services, insurance and business transactions in the UK and beyond, making him the ideal person to lead the legal and compliance team. His in-depth understanding of international law and compliance will be critical to strengthening the business through strategic expansion and development. Upon taking office, Fawcett will be based in Chicago and will report directly to Quirin Emmerich, Global General Counsel. He succeeds Julie Garrison, who left the company in September. Jack is excited about the law because it protects customers. As Chief Legal Officer, Jack is responsible for leading the legal team in the United States and overseeing the legal team in Canada. He also advocates for laws that require more clarity in our industry. Helping people understand that travel insurance is a priority for Jack because he knows how important it is to be protected – even an avid traveler. He was an exchange student in Australia, worked as a cook on a cruise ship and now enjoys exploring the world with his wife.
Commenting on his new role, Neil Travell said: “This position gives me the opportunity to leverage my expertise in leading the legal and compliance team to support the UK and Ireland business. My goal is to ensure that the team helps provide world-class service to our internal clients and clients by supporting growth in the UK and Ireland, while ensuring that we meet our legal and regulatory obligations. Jack graduated from the University of New Hampshire School of Law in 1994 and became a Chartered Property and Casualty Insurance Underwriter (CPCU) in 1996. In 1999, he received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Boston College and in 2018, he was inducted into the Federation of Regulatory Counsel (FORC). Because Jack strongly believes that our mission to help people should be more than a philosophy at work, Jack volunteers on the boards of the Ashland Economic Development Authority and the Ashland Main Street Association, promoting awareness among local businesses and the community. She will move from Aviva to Allianz, where she currently serves as Group Compliance and Financial Crime Risk Director. Prior to that, Rayner also worked at RSA, BGL and Direct Line Group. AGCS has made a number of new hires in recent weeks after adding three members of the U.S. team in January. In November, the company also made a number of management changes within its European team.
