In addition to adding the healthcare team of six lawyers in North Carolina, the firm hired nine additional health legal staff members across the firm`s overall presence last year. With the opening of this new location, Baker Donelson has set up temporary offices, but the company plans for a larger permanent office in the coming months to accommodate more additions in Charleston. Ms. Dunlap is an employment lawyer with over 20 years of experience handling labor disputes and federal and state court cases for clients in manufacturing, technology, healthcare, banking and hospitality. She advises companies on all employment-related matters, including the preparation of employment contracts, manuals and guidelines. Her litigation experience includes the role of senior counsel in prosecutions involving allegations of discrimination, harassment and reprisal related to race, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, whistleblowing and veteran status. Ms. Fleming`s practice touches on almost every aspect of health care, including regulatory compliance; operational and risk management; Certification; reimbursement checks and medicare and medicaid reimbursements and voluntary refunds; investigations and disclosures under the CMS and OIG self-disclosure protocols regarding potential violations of the anti-bribery law against fraud and abuse; confidentiality of medical information and HIPAA; facility licensing; and certification of needs. In addition to her health care practice, Ms. Fleming has also advised and represented public and private employers on employment matters.
