The CAS course provides participants with essential English legal terminology and an understanding of related common law concepts. The course is designed for lawyers, economists and in-house lawyers who wish to improve their skills in drafting and understanding legal documents in various areas of law. It is divided into a spring semester and an autumn semester; both semesters must be successfully completed to receive the Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS). The order in which semesters are completed is irrelevant; One fall semester and one spring semester must be completed in order to obtain the CAS. The division of the CAS program into spring and fall semesters allows for a flexible start to the CAS program, i.e. study can be started in the fall or spring; The two semesters are coordinated in such a way that the respective start of continuing education studies is irrelevant. Semesters can also be taken individually, but this does not lead to a CAS certificate, but only to a certificate of participation. The researchers of our faculty address the basic principles and content of case law as well as various issues concerning the application of the law in a national, European and international context. There is currently no other university in Switzerland offering a corresponding offer in the form of a CAS course.
