Direct Services BCLS provides legal assistance to eligible low-income clients who are victims of domestic violence in a variety of areas. Forty to forty-five per cent of our cases involve family law, including injunctions, divorce and custody. We give priority to cases of domestic violence. The BCLS can also help you with other legal matters, including housing issues (evictions and foreclosures), consumers, social benefits, health and disability rights. Through its staff and network of volunteer lawyers, BCLS offers a variety of civil law services, including legal advice and information, mediation, document preparation and representation before courts or administrative hearings. Office hours in Louisville are 8:30 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Appointments are required. BCLS schedules appointments at the Longmont and Boulder sites 2 days a month. Clients should call the Louisville office to make an appointment.

Personal BCLS employs 3 career people and is supported by approximately 260 volunteers. Bilingual services are available for first contact and for clients who require legal representation or support at the Pro-se clinic.
