The S in the name means the street. The production line of this bike is limited to 213 machines, making it a rather rare gem. And with a top speed of 200mph, the RC213V-S is also one of the fastest motorcycles ever built. The Aprilia RSV4 RF is a road-legal version of the motorcycle that won the Superbike World Championship in 2010. The RF is not a problem as it is equipped with a superb 65 degree 1000cc V4 engine that produces an impressive 201 horsepower and 84 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a cylinder head with revised connector, CNC machined combustion chamber, new titanium exhaust valves and intake valves, the RSV4 RF reaches a top speed of 185 miles per hour. Sometimes motorcycle manufacturers essentially create a racing motorcycle equipped with the necessary parts to make it legal on the road. The Ducati Desmosedici RR is a road-legal limited version of the Desmosedici MotoGP racing bike. This speed demon features a liquid-cooled dual-pulse DOHC 90-stroke DOHC Desmodromic V4 engine with a displacement of 989 cc and four titanium valves and gear-driven cams. Combined with a six-speed gearbox, this machine produces 197.3 horsepower, enough to bring the RR to a top speed of 188 miles per hour.
In the 90s, street bikes were pretty much all big and powerful four-strokes. Only the small-displacement wheels withstood the improved two-stroke technology. When Yamaha introduced the R7 in 1999, it was the most advanced road-legal motorcycle ever produced by the Japanese manufacturer. The bike, also called OW-02, was built to comply with Superbike World Championship homologation rules – only 500 units were built. Although the bike was equipped with a lot of aesthetics compared to other YZF-R models, underneath the exotic body of the R7 was a completely different beast. After teasing us for almost two months, the German brand Ronax unveiled its 500cc two-stroke sports bike. Ronax isn`t saying it`s a legal replica of the Honda NSR500 that Valentino Rossi used to win the 2001 Grand Prix World Championship – presumably because they can`t legally – but that`s essentially what the 500 is. It`s a replica Honda NSR500 GP motorcycle, even up to 160 horsepower that the engine provides, and yet it`s a bit legal on the street.
Road-approved motorcycles come with specifications designed for wild performance and blazing speeds. They are the next to own a MotoGP road bike. The technology used in building pure racing bikes is so advanced and the materials are top-notch – which is why a rider has to part with a huge amount of money to throw a leg on one. Unlike its closest competitors, it is technically road legal in some countries. In most developed countries, it will still struggle to adopt emission and noise regulations, but it has all the necessary annexes. The Ronax 500 is one of the rarest road-legal superbikes ever made – only 46 units were produced. It is powered by a 500 cc two-stroke four-cylinder engine. The engine produces 160 hp, which is transmitted to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox. Although they attach mirrors and other accessories to the motorcycle, there are very few other requirements of the highway code, it seems that it was always intended to be more of a limited track bike.
But somehow, the German company managed to make the Ronax 500 roadworthy by simply applying basic needs such as light. In terms of equipment, the bike is also not far from an NSR, although everything is built in Germany. The 499cc engine is an 80-degree V4 with two counter-rotating crankshafts, fuel injection and a six-speed transmission. At 160hp, that`s slightly less than the 180-200hp made by the last of the 500cc strokers, but it`s supposed to be road legal and hopefully take more than one running distance before settling in – don`t forget to cover that clutch! The Ducati 1299 Panigale R is not only a superbike, but also a collector`s item. This latest edition of the Ducati has been designed to celebrate Ducati`s most powerful two-cylinder engine. It`s the perfect blend of high-performance engine and racing suspension. Its 1285cc liquid-cooled two-cylinder Desmodromic 4-valve engine produces 209 hp, which equates to speeds of up to 190 miles per hour. The Ronax 500cc two-stroke V4 motorcycle may look like a Honda NSR500 GP motorcycle, but it is modern and designed for use on the road. For decades, the entire biker community has been fascinated by the large-displacement 2-stroke circuits that dominated Grand Prix circuits. The main reason for this was emissions, as unburnt fuel leaking from the exhaust pipes of larger displacement two-stroke wheels made them serious polluters, especially motorcycles that had not yet introduced EFI systems and depended on gasification. It has an 80-degree V4 as opposed to the Honda`s 112-degree V4, it also uses an advanced EFI system, something that was still in its infancy when the Grand Prix bike competed.
Almost the entire motorcycle is handmade, the only parts that are not handmade are custom replacement items such as Ohlin forks and Brembo brakes. Let me take you on a journey and tell you everything you need to know about the Ronax 500. Watch the video below to see the Ronax 500 in action. The BMW S1000RR is one of the most powerful motorcycles and has been considered the best-equipped sports bike in the 1000cc class. The S1000RR is powered by a 999 cc four-cylinder engine developing 199 hp. In addition, it has an anti-lock braking system and optional electronic traction control. In addition, it is equipped with ABS and ex-factory dynamic traction control, a first for a road superbike. Just like the YZR500, the Ronax uses a pair of counter-rotating crankshafts, although both cranks are placed in CNC-machined aluminum housings as an extra touch. The four-strokes were later pushed back into the racing world for large displacement motorcycles and the two-strokes became obsolete. In addition, the body, fuel tank and rear were made of carbon fiber.
The four exhaust silencers were also all carbon/Kevlar. Valentino Rossi, yes, none other than the man himself won the last 500cc World Championship on an NSR500 in 2001. The YZR (Yamaha RD500LC) and NSR were not easy to ride, mainly due to the fact that they were racing machines and only the riders were supposed to ride them. Experienced pilots with training, finesse and buckets full of courage to face the masses of instant power. The V4 engine has a bore and stroke of 54 x 54 mm and is designed exactly like the winning GP bikes, especially the Yamaha YZR500 and NSR500, the last two race winners of the time. The RC231V-S is equipped with a 999cc liquid-cooled DOHC 4-valve DOHC V4 engine that develops 215 horsepower and 87 lb-ft of torque with the power kit installed. No way around this, it is a very exclusive machine with an equally exclusive price.
From a stylistic point of view, the Ronax 500 is straight out of the 90s, with its funky GP body, large tank, bulky fairing, etc. So it seems that nothing else is available in the new modern market today. Related: 15 Street Legal Superbikes That Last Less Than 3 Seconds at 60 mph The fairing, mudguard, heel protector and fairing mount are made of carbon fiber, while the exhaust heat shield is made of carbon composite. Ducati was released in June 2006 and offered 1,500 Desmosedici RR models for public purchase. Ergonomically, you will be placed in a sporty upright driving position, comfort is not necessary when you hold the accelerator while holding for life. Its engine is actually nothing from another manufacturer, it is inherently similar to other famous two-stroke racing bikes, but has a different architecture. The Ronax 500 honors Grand Prix racing in the best possible way by offering a better representation of the 500cc two-stroke Grand Prix bikes of yesteryear. It`s extreme in every way, from the materials used to the design to the price tag. Nothing could stop these bikes as they reached their peak, with weight restrictions of just 250 pounds and power ratings of up to 200 horsepower. Its lightweight and enviable forged aluminum wheels and fully adjustable Ohlin forks, shock absorber and steering damper, as well as graphics, make this bike physically small and agile. Built in Germany, so the quality is obviously unmatched and the bike is really beautiful. It`s built with the goal of being the best rider, and everything else is secondary, but even then, the bike is visually stunning.
All of this seems pretty easy to hide/take away when you take to the track, fulfilling the dreams of those who love the idea of running on the track.
