Have you found your voice on LinkedIn?
When I first started out on LinkedIn, I didn’t have one.
I had no idea what to say, how to say it, to whom to say it to.
But I decided to just do it anyway.
I fumbled and experimented, battled self-doubt and fear of making a fool of myself.
đŻ However as I started to put myself out on the platform and showing up consistently, I slowly found my voice, my people and what they wanted to hear.
đŻ I built the confidence to share my stories, experiences and knowledge and not worry about being judged.
đŻ I doubled my network of relevant connections, got new clients and other exciting opportunities.
There are 875 million people on LinkedIn but only 3 – 5% are creating and sharing content
If you are in that 95 – 97%, here are some tips to help you find, share and amplify your voice:
â Recognize that you have a voice and that you have unique experiences, stories and skills that you can share.
â Understand why you want to share your voice on this platform. What is your ultimate goal?
â Identify what you want to talk about. What lights you up, comes easily and is aligned with your goals so creating content around it is exciting and has a purpose.
â Determine who wants to hear your voice and what do they want to hear.
â Decide on how often you want to share your voice and in what format.
â Lift other people up, share and amplify their voices
â Don’t focus on vanity metrics and engagement. Add value, be consistent and relevant.
â Donât be a people pleaser or go after the next shiny object. Share your voice authentically.
â Don’t copy someone else’s voice. You are unique and have much to share. People buy from people.
â Don’t wait to be invited to have a seat at the table. Build your own table and share your voice through your content, videos, newsletters like this one, LinkedIn Lives, LinkedIn Audio events.
â Don’t think your voice doesn’t matter. There will always be someone on this platform who might need to hear what you have to say and be inspired by it.
â Don’t wait to be perfect or to have a large following. There never is a right time to start sharing your voice. You don’t need anyone’s permission os START DOING IT TODAY!
⨠Remember when you start sharing your voice consistently and with intent, it will open the doors to many new opportunities.
